Come spring, summer, fall or winter, The Colony is celebrating the season with wonderful food, music, arts and entertainment. All festivals and events in The Colony are geared toward the whole family and many are FREE! Mark your calendars now and plan on attending some of the greatest and unique events in North Texas. 


Movies in the Park: "Happy Feet 2"

Rachel's Challenge Rally

Jammin' in the Park

The Colony Cultural Arts Board (CAB) is launching a spring series, “Jammin' in the Park!” From March through May, the CAB will host one family fun event  each month at Lion' s Club Park.  Performers – bring your entertainment.  Residents – bring your lawn chairs, blankets, picnic baskets and be ready for a memorable evening of entertainment by the best talent in The Colony. Kids Triathlon

Date: Saturday, May 19

Location: Hidden Cove Park & Marina

Cost: $5 gate entry fee per vehicle for spectators; no entry fee for participants or for those with annual passes

The Playtri Kids Triathlons have been designed for kids ages 6 to 14 interested in participating in the fun competition of triathlon. Kids ages 6 – 10 will compete in a 50 meter swim; 2.5 mile bike ride and a half mile run. Kids age 11 – 14 will compete in a 100 meter swim; 5 mile bike ride and a 1 mile run. A pre-race clinic will be held Sunday, May 6 at 2 p.m. at Hidden Cove Park to allow participants to review the course and practice transitioning. In addition, Playtri's Lead Developmental Coach, Morgan Johnson, will meet with participants and their parents to answer questions and help prepare them for the race! All kids who finish the race will receive a finisher’s medal.  For more information and to register for the race, please visit http://playtri.com/hiddencove.


Memorial Service

The City of The Colony invites you and your family to The Colony Five Star Memorial on Sunday, May 20 to honor and remember Spc. Philip C.S. Schiller who was killed in action April 11, 2012 in the Kandahar province, Afghanistan. Spc. Schiller was a resident of The Colony and a 2010 graduate of The Colony High School. The Dallas Observer and Spune Productions are teaming up to bring you, FLOAT, a series of events set to take place at Hidden Cove Park & Marina on Lake Lewisville in conjunction with Memorial Day, Independence Day and Labor Day. During the day-long events, you'll have the opportunity to experience the concept's central theme: BANDS. BOATING. SWIMMING. FLOATING. Music performances will feature premiere Americana, Texas country, alternative country, folk and southern rock to go along with beer tents, food vendors and backyard style festivities. Memorial Day Ceremony

Mark your calendar for 10 a.m. Monday, May 28 to honor and remember all who have served our country. This Memorial Day Ceremony is proudly presented by the American Legion Holley Riddle Post 21. Feel free to bring a lawn chair or blanket as a large crowd is expected and the bleachers may fill up quickly.


Alice in Wonderland

The Colony Firefighter's Association

"Take on the Heat" Triathlon

Spectators are welcome to cheer on their hometown heroes at the annual sprint distance triathlon consisting of a 350 meter open water swim in a protected cove of Lewisville Lake, 12 mile bike ride and 5K run. Hundreds of athletes will participate in this annual race which benefits The Colony Firefighter’s Association. In past years, proceeds from this race paid for medical bills of injured firefighters, assisted firefighters with terminally ill family members, and contributed to various fund raising events for several injured firefighters, both from The Colony Fire Department and around the country. Talk Like a Pirate Day at Hidden Cove Park is a family oriented event to celebrate the fun pirate culture. Lawn chairs, blankets, picnic baskets and boats are welcome! Calling all dog lovers! This one-of-a-kind event is returning for another great year at Hawaiian Falls Waterpark. Dive in with your best canine friend and enjoy doggie swims, contests, games, and prizes. A portion of the proceeds will benefit The Colony Animal Shelter Injured Animal Fund. Haunted Shadows Lake Trail

American Heroes Festival: A Salute to Veterans

The City of The Colony and American Legion Post 21 is once again proud to celebrate and honor past and present military service members at this all-day festival. Food 4 Families Food Drive

Make a difference this holiday season by donating canned goods or non-perishable food items. Donation boxes will be placed at various locations throughout The Colony. Proceeds will be donated to local food banks right here in town. Holiday in the Park & Parade of Lights

This annual event, presented by The Colony Parks and Recreation Department, will make its way through town with a bang. All-day activities include: pictures with Santa from noon to 2 p.m. at The Colony Public Library, 6800 Main St. ($2 per photo); Parade of Lights at 5:45 p.m. (route begins at Peters Colony Elementary parking lot and proceeds west on Nash to Blair Oaks and then south to The Colony High School); Holiday In The Park at 6 p.m. at Perryman Park, 4930 S. Colony Blvd. Holiday in the Park will feature festive holiday music and performances, a holiday craft station and a baking contest. The Colony Christmas Spectacular
